It would seem logically to ditch the jamaican gimmick too - it now bears no connection to his actual character...

Well name aside he has.

No accent and he now hails from Ghana (I think..)

Honestly, level with me...

...how much difference is there between WCW in 2000 and Raw in 2009?

I actually want to hurt myself during Raw

does creative start every script with 'DX come to the ring and tells the baffled guest to....'

Another midcarders name gets mispronounced! :banananig:

Though I have to admit, I laughed at the segment with DX, Hornswoggle and Cena.

Hey, if Ozzy calls him Evan Bron, he's Evan Bron!  :D

I enjoyed all the skits for once. The interactions between Ozzy and more specifically Shawn Michaels just seemed morally wrong on all levels. I was waiting for HHH to say something smart about it.  :hihi:

Pity he didn't swear though. Funniest part was with Big Show, who couldn't even help but laugh!

Not much.  I guess there's always the chance of seeing a good quality match once in a blue moon.  I look forward to ECW and Smackdown more than the "flagship" show.  Raw makes me want to hurl things at the tv.

Atleast Raw has a direction

...trouble is they have made it into a comedy

I dont know if i'm laughing at Vince or with Vince

The guest have no idea what they are doing and some seem actually frightened for their lives

...and Triple H is clearly more bored than the audience - how many 'in jokes' does he make each week? He's a man that just doesnt give a **** about the show, his character, money - anything

I did chuckle at the DX and Hornswoggle bit - 'have u any idea how long it took to get him up there?'

Its become Carry On Wrestling - its absurdly camp

..and are they trying to kill Survivor Series?

A decade ago a triple threat match for the title would have had the participants trying to kill each other - now they all meet up for a laugh and joke

'may the best man win!'

wtf? Shouldnt Triple H be threatening Shawn with a blunt instrument if he doesnt just lie down? Shouldn't Cena be saying how the belt matters more than all the kids calenders he signed yesterday? Shouldnt Michaels be saying how its 'his time'?

WWE expects people to blow $40 dollars on three friends having a thoroughly spiffing ol'match and a good handshake at the end?

If Sharon Osbourne says really one more time I swear I'll kill someone, she's like Vickie Guerrero with the volume turned up and she's meant to be a face dammit!

I've seen so much praise online for the segments and The Osbournes, personally, after a few alright weeks I thought it was one of the worst. episodes. ever.

Comedy should be reserved to a character or two, a segment or two, not the whole show.

The best segments were the "Non-comedy" ones.  Sheamus going crazy and the end of the show, I mean its not everyday D-X and Cena get layed out like that, now THAT was decent.

As for the WCW 2000 thing, never really saw any, but I'm currently at August 1997 in my viewing, I'll tell ya about it when I get there (if I get there)  :P

Ohh, 'really' could be a new catchphrase! How exciting!

If u have no talent and ride on your husbands coat tails - maybe limiting your conversations to one word is a virtue?

Yeah!

Glut of new xbox games means the 30 mins I condense raw into is now taken by something else

won't be watching again untill GM gimmick ends

I will rely on u guys keeping me informed On what isn't happening - though smackdown has 30 mins of recaps of raw anyway...

Was Piper drunk last night??....

Anyway, the different set-up kinda gave the show a different feel. Made it seem more special. I know that was just a one-off but it's nice to have the odd change. I like the new Nickelback theme too. Hey, shut up, I like them alright? :P

And was it just me or when they announced Jesse Ventura as next week's guest host, Cole listed all of his accomplishments except the fact that he was, you know, a wrestler??

Last time I read an interview with him Ventura said he hasn't watched wrestling in years and that part of his life is closed, so maybe thats why  :P

I really liked the show last night, the different set-up, theme and some good matches (especially the short but electric Main Event) and Hornswoggle getting squashed made this a winner!  :headbanger:

When I saw that, I thought for a moment that it may have been some kind of heel turn, but Michael Cole seemed to approve of it so.....

That makes me think, Cole turning heel would be a winner.  Incidently, what I disliked was the stretcher bit which seemed to save "Face" so to speak, I was hoping they'd drop it.  Triple H's facial expressions while he was getting ready to do it were priceless, I wonder if HBK wasn't think, "Didn't I fall for the exact same thing once?"  :hihi:

Speaking of D-X, word is the book hit Sherri in the head, damn cameras missed it  :(
