How Do You Think they should/will retire.....
« on: August 29, 2009, 05:29:49 pm »
HHH, HBK & Taker are all getting on and despite the fact that they'll probally wrestle for a whilel longer.

How do you think they will retire these 3 icons of wrestling? and How would you do it?

I've always been in favour of legends going out how they want to go out, and if that helps a younger guy on the way then all the better. The Ric Flair vs HBK didn't really do anything for HBK but the match was a good emotion based match.

I think Takers retirement should and will revolve around his Wrestlemania streak. I think Taker would like to go out that way. The question is does he lose or does he keep the streak. I think Taker would lose his streak, but only to the right person. Otherwise he will finish his career 100% at Mania. At present there is no one on the roster that i can see beating Taker although i would like to see Dibiase go up against Taker at some point because i can see the promo now "My Father brought you into the WWE, and i'm gonna get rid of you".... thats got mileage to me. So it would probally have to be a Superstar who has yet to appear in WWE if it would happen at all.

HBK is a tough one... coz knowing HBK he wouldn't want to lose his last match. Personally i'd like to see him get screwed and not know a thing about it.... But justice is low in this world so it probally won't happen that way. I'd like to see HBK give the rub to a young gun at Wrestlemania.... so whoever it is that beats him gets to say "i ended Mr. Wrestlemania's career" or "The Show Stopper, just got Stopped". If it was to happen in the next couple of years i could see someone like Morrsion being worthy of that kind of match.... But my Money is that HHH will probally retire HBK. I really hope not but thats how i see it playing out.

HHH will be around the longest i think but i think he'll definatly lose his last match. I hate HHH and think he uses his position far too much but i remember an interview where he said that he'd like to lose his last match while headlining a PPV. So if that was the case you would assume he'd need to be Champion or Challenger. I don't know why but i always saw HHH's last match like the Hogan vs Warrior WM match. Maybe they could position it that some young up & comer is the US or IC champion and they take on the World title in Winner takes all match.

Of Course there is the possibility that HBK vs HHH could be booked as a Career Match.... that would be an occasion especially if you knew that both wanted to retire.

Its a hard one coz potentially HHH could wrestle for 10 more years.

I actually think HHH will be around the shortest amount

Being Married to Stephanie and having kids now, I see him slowing down over the next couple of years and eventually helping succeed Vince and running WWE with Steph and Shane with HBK a big role as well.

'Taker - Buried Alive match.  8)

Same for Kane, 'Taker should get rid of his brother, in a far out crazy way the story will have come full circle.

Evil bro shows up, makes your life hell, you defeat him, then align with him, then fall out with him, he turns good you go bad, then you team again, then you feud again, you beat him, go your seperate ways, team from time to time, so now we are due 'Taker to kill him off once and for all.

I can't think of a single memorable exit - maybe Flair (but did he actually quit? I never took it seriously)

Well he hasn't wrestled since, thats surprised most.  And his exit was superb, many years too late, but superb nonetheless.

Ah, the good old days of when The Undertaker attempted to murder people at The Great American Bash.... :)

Watching tonight made me think they need to come up with an Undertaker retirement plan and soon.

His matches have been shortened, he doesn't look the star he did back at 'Mania, for once the dirtsheets are probably spot on with his injury issues.

How does it happen though, title reign through 'til Mania then he loses the belt and streak and passes the torch to someone else?

Or does he preserve the streak and go out on top, he wins, the lights go out and when they come back on he's vanished....

....looking at how beat-up HBK looks these days I'd say the clock is ticking with him, and I hope he does retire, while he still is a damn good wrestler, rather than going on too long.
