Fozzy
« on: September 09, 2009, 03:28:11 pm »
Any fans? Started listening to them in 2005, when their last album "All That Remains" came out. Their first two albums entitled "Fozzy" and "Happenstance" consisted mostly of covers, but from All That Remains, the band has come into their own as they started releasing all original material. Don't judge them on that stupid "concert" thing they had a few years back on Raw where they competed against John Cena. Jericho has a great voice, and he's a pretty good writer too.

They just released their new single from their new album  entitled "Chasing The Grail" due out Jan 2010. It's ok but Fozzy has always had a habit of picking one of their weakest songs as their first single.

Here it is:

If you want to check out some of their old stuff I suggest With The Fire, The Way I Am, To Kill A Stranger, Nameless Faceless, and Over The Mountain.

I actually saw them live a few years ago and to be honest both me and my mate's first thought was - stick to wrestling.

A lot of my friends actually said they sound ok, but the main problem always seems to be that "he sounds too much like Chris Jericho the wrestler."  Admittedly, I always understood that comment.

It was 4 years ago and my memory isn't wonderful but from what I remember it was just the fact that his voice wasn't that strong.

Anyone heard/downloaded/bought?

Downloaded it Tuesday, and can't stop listening to it. There's something on there for everyone. Some songs Chris sounds really like Ozzy, whilst other songs display elements of Maiden, Dragonforce, Dream Theatrer, Black Stone Cherry, Lacuna Coil, etc.

Awesome album!  :headbanger:

I recommend "Under Blackened Skies" "New Days Dawn" "God Pounds His Nails" and "Friday the 13th."

Looking forward to your thoughts D.

Only thing I never liked about Fozzy is... Jericho seems to imitate every great frontman but doesn't have his own voice if that makes sense.

Listening now............Under Blackened Skies is awesome!  Music **** ROCKS.. great riffs, drums etc.

I'm stupid with things like this so I don't even notice, but I assume he's using something at the start of "New Days Dawn" if that even is him singing.  :P

Overall though, it's a great CD; catchy lyrics and groovy riffs. Their last album "All That Remains" gained them some serious recognition as it was their first album with their own material. I think now with "Chasing The Grail" Fozzy can be taken seriously as a respectable metal band.

Lovin' "Friday The 13th" atm. I really can't stop listening to this album!
