Batista
« on: September 13, 2009, 04:04:19 pm »
So, what do people think is gonna be this big announcement that has been mentioned.  The general consensus feel that he's just gonna be on his way to Smackdown for one reason or another and I'm pretty much guessing that is what it could be.  JR has mentioned something about retirement on his blog but I really can't see that being the case.

Any other idea's?

I think they edited the announcement of this announcement out of the UK broadcast. I don't remember seeing it anyway. I just heard the announcers mention it.

Whatever it is, I'm not sure how 'big' it'll turn out to be. 'Big' announcements in wrestling are sometimes a bit of an anti-climax. :P

Yeah, I've noticed that in my couple of years watching the WWE.

Well Teddy Long is meant to be making a big announcement on next weeks show.

A move to Smackdown could be it and so I guess could be a retirement of sorts/retirement angle.

:hihi:

Good point, although Undertaker is there, one of the few guys who can get a damn good match out of him.

From a rating points of view, a heel Batista vs. Undertaker would be bigger than Undertaker vs. anyone else currently on the show, its not as good creatively as Punk vs. Undertaker, but its ratings that matter.

I doubt thats the annoucement anyway.  I mean how would they work it.  "Hey in my absence my RAW contract expired so I've signed with Smackdown"  ::)

Maybe he will announce he can wrestle and it took Trish Stratus to remind him?

Maybe he's Undertaker's other brother?

Who knows - and when it comes to Batista - who cares?

How about: the celebrity hosts are ending and he's becoming the new permanent GM??

It's a long shot but it's possible...

Be good if true, but just rumours obviously.  Would it be a good move?

Credit ? Gerweck

It is being reported that the WWE has made an offer to Dave Batista to return to the company. This comes as no surprise after Batista's MMA deal with Strikeforce fell through and with Edge retiring hiring Batista would be easier on the creative team on either brand as they would have more time to build stars instead of pushing someone there quicker than deserved. Batista has also shown interest in being a movie star and has been involved in a few films already.

It could be an alright move. I think Vince would be happy to see him back, especially after losing another top guy in Edge.

I wasn't the biggest Batista fan, but I thought he was alright. I thought he always stepped it up for the big matches and he usually had some good matches if they were at big events.
