Anyone who calls in to question the screwjob off this is a reaching.

An angle which takes 12 years for the pay off....

....Come on.

He loves wrestling, he wanted back, he wanted to finish his career on a high, they could hardly ignore the entire incident.

No one is saying the screwjob was an intentional work meant to have a sequel 12 years later. Obviously this was decided on fairly recently to give this a final chapter. I do agree that it would have been tough to ignore it completely, but he could have returned with that incident not dominating the return. Instead, that's all its about.

As the storyline progresses into the usual weekly skits, its not far fetched for fans to call into question how real that incident really was.
I have wined and dined with kings and queens, and I've slept in alleys and dined on pork and beans.

Well the very cynical will call into question most things, many have questioned it for years anyway.

I understand the theory, but the real life incident is storyline goldust, its the same principle as guys being best playing themselves with the volume turned up.  People want real life passion and emotion in storylines, they want to be afforded the opportunity to suspend disbelief if only for a few minutes to truly get into a story, so what better story to use than a real one like this.

Look at other top feuds.  Playing on real-life tensions between guys is hardly new, and neither is using real-life problems and incidents.  Heck they've exploited every war.  Just happens that the real-life incident being used in this case came out of a fictional world, its weird and wacky but in wrestling it works, it sums up the never say never, anything is possible way of things.

I'm still waiting for Randy Savage to show and dispel that "Myth"...  :D

Bret Hart was spotted having dinner with a number of TNA officials including Jeremy Borash last night at Bailey’s in Nashville after his appearance on RAW. Borash confirmed this on his Twitter page.

Here’s the photo from Borash’s Twitter:

On his Facebook account, Bret Hart made some interesting comments regarding TNA. He wrote the following:

“It was nice seeing Jeremy Borash, a longtime friend of mine, from TNA while I was in Nashville. He hung out with me and we never once talked wrestling. Some feeble minded idiot who saw us in plain view tried to start the rumour that I might be heading to TNA next; although why anyone would ever think I’d let Hogan and Bischoff anywhere near my Hitman persona again is truly beyond me.”

Bischoff referred to Borash as a “mark” last week on his Twitter account for posting a photo of himself and Hart after their dinner, which also included several other TNA staffers.

BRET HART has revealed how he returned to the WWE in order to finally put the infamous Montreal Screwjob behind him.

The Hitman has long held a grudge over the 1997 incident, where WWE boss Vince McMahon and Shawn Michaels colluded with referee Earl Hebner so that an unknowing Hart lost his world title.

However, 52-year-old Bret admits that he has mellowed with age and wants to move on.

The legendary star has made up with Shawn and is even set for some sort of match at this year's WrestleMania against McMahon.

He told Scripps News: "I want to move on.

"I made a big fuss out of all that happened. I wrote a book about it. There was a documentary.

"I held out from WWE for a long time because of my pride. In the end, I think I made my point.

"Some people feel it wasn't the right thing for me to go back. But there's only one person in Bret 'The Hitman' Hart's shoes and it's me.

"This is a lot of fun for me. It sure beats shovelling snow."

He added: "When I came back, I didn't know if the whole thing with Shawn would erupt again.

"But the truth is, Shawn has been real good with the whole thing.

"You can tell this is a weight lifted off his back, my back and I think even Vince to a certain degree.

"It feels like a new start."

Asked how his late brother Owen and father Stu would have reacted, Bret joked: "They'd say that hell froze over."

I'm really enjoying the way this entire thing is being booked by WWE.  I've read that last weeks confrontation between Vince and Bret was unscripted and on the fly, which is great since we don't get any promos like that anymore.  They're always scripted.  I think Vince has played the evil chicken heel excellently.  I got a kick out of him yelling "You deserve to be screwed" and then running away into the back this week.  There's nothing complex about this; just a great old school storytelling.

Bret Hart posted a blog on his Facebook account discussing his WrestleMania experience this past week.

Regarding the event itself, he wrote: “As for WrestleMania, I can’t begin to describe the flood of excitement that pulsated through me at seeing the sight of that massive stadium filled with fans. Although I know it was far from my greatest performance, I can proudly say it was one of my most glorious victories I’ve ever had. Once upon a time in my wheelchair after suffering my stroke in 2002, thinking how impossible it was to even conceive of such a moment makes me as proud as ever of anything I ever did in a ring. It was sweet seeing the entire Hart Family play a part in giving Vince McMahon the beating of his lifetime. When I briefly saw Linda McMahon afterwards in the hallway, I confessed with a smile that I’d secretly given him a couple of choice chair shots just for her. This drew a burst of laughter and a smile.”

He then thanked the McMahons for their kindness and hospitality, notably mentioning Triple H.

“In truth, I’d like to thank all the McMahons (and that includes Triple H) for their kindness, hospitality, and for a fantastic three-month ride I’ll never forget.”

I think the whole Bret thing went really well all in all. Both in front of the camera and behind the scenes.

It does seem that bridges are truely mended and i think alot of people marked out big time for Brets storyline. I can honestly say that all my friends (some that stopped watching wrestling) loved seeing Bret back on TV.

and just think 13 years after the Montreal Screwjob..... Bret and HBK are still putting together magical Wrestlemania moments.

Good 3 months of Wrestling IMO

Agreed, the best part of it all for me wasn't even Wrestlemania, it was the night after.

See the hug didn't convince me, the first speech back with the repeated use of "WWE Universe" felt scripted whether it was or not.  RAW didn't, it seemed genuine on both parts that they have buried the hatchet and moved on and made peace with each other and to openly praise each others accomplishments in such a genuine manner, I loved!

Thought the whole angle was rubbish in its execution

but...I was very pleased to see everyone patch things up, nobody wins these long standing grudges (as GNR could tell u), whatever happened shouldn't be taken to the grave.

It wasn't perfect, not by any means, but given Bret's I can't be hit, fragile state, it was about as good as it could have been, I think many were initially gutted when they realised just how weak he was and how he couldn't even take a slap to the face.

The guy suffered a stroke and had a concussion to me the fact that he was even able to participate in a match without any medical problems afterward is pretty amazing.  If they want to, giving him a tv role as a GM of Raw would be a good move.

he should have come in as the manager of the Hart Dynasty - their 'voice', got them over with the crowd and then at 'mania have them fight Vince's team in some daft stipulation match about the Hart Legacy

All this angle did was get Vince in the ring again - the Hart Dynasty havent benefitted, no new blood benefitted - what was the point in wrestling terms?
