« on: September 25, 2009, 12:21:01 am »
- WWE sent out a survey earlier today asking fans for help on naming an Elimination Chamber themed pay-per-view. Below are the choices they gave:

* Chamber of Conflict
* Heavy Metal

I've always thought No Way Out was invariably the best ppv of the year and a fitting name too.

World Wrestling Entertainment has changed another pay-per-view name with their February event “WWE No Way Out” changed to “WWE Elimination Chamber”.

Anyone who voted 'Elimination Chamber' has no imagination. At all.

Perhaps naming events after matches is the new 'thing'.

Prepare for Wrestlemania to renamed 'Singles Match'....

Its a bit playschool, make it simple, basic and boring so the kiddies get it.

Its probably a given 2 of them will be World and WWE Title matches, I'm guessing, as with all these themed events there will be a third, but rather than going ECW, I'd like them to use a modicum of imagination and figure out a good way of having a Tag Title one.

WWE have sent out another survey to their mailing list asking the fans to help rename yet another PPV. This time its Judgment Day. According to the list on the survey, fans can pick from the following names: Judgment Day,Riot Control, Multimania and WWE War games.

Ooooo are they going to finally utilise War Games, I hope so, book it!

If 'Multimania' wins, I will abandon faith in wrestling fans for good.

I'd laugh, I may even vote for it.

I assume War Games will win though and thats why they've included it, they want to utilise the theme.

It'd be interesting to see who the teams would be.

Judgement day has been a awful ppv for so long, like backlash I can't remember a good one...

But the name's good - I'd change one of the other ones to War Games

Jim Ross:

I read on line where WWE was kicking around the “War Games” theme for a possible return to PPV. I think that’s a good idea as the traditional “War Games” concept was two teams of five and the bad guys winning every coin toss in existence which allowed them to always start with a 2 on 1 advantage. No, I don’t endorse that “every match be a War Games match” but I do think that it makes for a cool theme name and having one “War Games” bout would be marketable if the table was set correctly with the right talents that all had organic reasons to be “teammates.” Please read this carefully and don’t go into business for yourself inasmuch as I’m saying that this is going to happen but that it was merely something that I read being discussed on line and we all know all those things can be at times.

The Figure Four Weekly Newsletter is reporting that although WWE is considering bringing back the idea of the War Games PPV, it most likely will not be done in the same manner that WCW ran the gimmick. In the past few years, the idea of running a War Games match or PPV has come up from time to time in WWE creative meetings, but for one reason or another the idea is consistently shot down. This time around, management has told creative to go back and watch old War Games style matches and then take aspects of the match style to incorporate into a new version of War Games for WWE to use. WWE is also toying with the idea of using the War Games match for another Raw vs Smackdown bout. Nothing has been confirmed at this point, and the idea is only in the discussion phase.
