CM Punk got Heat?
« on: October 05, 2009, 03:34:18 pm »
Source: Wrestling Observer

- Word going around the WWE locker room is that the reason CM Punk lost the World Heavyweight Title last night is because of heat on him stemming from an incident on the recent European tour.

The story goes that there was in issue with how Punk was dressed and The Undertaker tried to nicely tell Punk that he was the World Champion and was representing WWE overseas so he should dress better. Punk said something to the effect of “what about John Cena?”

This got back to WWE management and they took it as Punk thinking he was a bigger star than John Cena. Then the decision was made to take the belt off Punk at Hell in a Cell and put the match as the opener. It is noted by Dave Meltzer that this may not be exactly how the story went down but it’s how it was told.

The problems with Punk and losing the title has been the talk of the SmackDown locker room for the past two days. As noted last night before the show, several on the SmackDown brand were under the impression that Undertaker was winning and he did. There are some who are wondering why Undertaker was given the title considering his limited schedule and health problems with the feeling that it was too soon to take the title off Punk.

Word is that WWE is planning on going with a Batista vs. Undertaker feud for the World Heavyweight Title.

The title change is baffling

Clearly they were building to a Vince heel turn, with him pulling the strings behind the screw job

They tore up their creative plans for this?

In many ways it sounds like NEWZ (Random bullshit and guess work by supposed wrestling insiders).

I mean it sounds too much like CM Punk, the kind of guy he has been painted as over the years, it sounds just like him, weird.

Although Undertaker is one of the few guys with so much stroke its untrue, does anybody give him ****?

Don't know how long since it was...12 months, heck maybe even 2 years but all talent was told to dress, well fairly smart and professional.  I think they said Taker was the exception because it went against his gimmick/character...

I agree with CM though, how does John Cena dress? I guarantee he wears the same **** he does on wrestling.

if he doesn't set an example, CM shouldn't either.

If they stopped his push cause of that, Vince is growing more senile than i originally thought.

True, but I always say take these internet stories with a pinch of salt.

I mean according to the net, Arn Anderson hates him and when he first came in Triple H and HBK both said he couldn't work, everyone said he'd be jobbed out, yet he has won multiple MITB's, ECW Gold, Tag, IC and the World Title a few times, not bad for someone the guys with stroke didn't supposedly think could work, its stuff like this that makes me doubt these stories at times.

This is Taker in a HIAC match we're talking about though, there was only ever really going to be one outcome wasn't there?

Off the top of my head he has lost at least 3 that he has been in.

The point is he could have put Punk through hell, and still lost, like he did in the first one in 1997 vs. HBK.

He could have been screwed, by whoever was behind the screwjob at Breaking Point i.e. Vince Mcmahon....

...I mean this being "His match" is like the myth, Casket and Buried Alive matches are "His" match, heck he loses most of those too...

A guy doing a Raw report said this:

On a totally random and somewhat unrelated note, has the wrestling media become that bored or gossipy that they’re trying to make the case that a business decision was made because another person didn’t wear a tie? The lack of journalistic integrity is a daily embarrassment around the interweb, and it’s a wonder that people who work for sites like ours still wonder why the WWE won’t grant them interviews, etc. Maybe it’s because you make stuff up and as a result, call your integrity into question? Who was at the Taker-Punk conversation and how do they know that’s what they talked about? Wasn’t it reported for MONTHS that Taker was scheduled to win the belt at Breaking Point? Where do people come up with this stuff? How would Cena know what John Cena wears from TV taping to TV taping as they’re on different brands? I’m sorry your favorite wrestler didn’t win, but can we stop it with the ‘PUNK IN DA DOGHOUSE~’ stories every time he loses a world title? Just because he’s not cleanly beating Taker, Cena, HBK and Triple H on a nightly basis does not put him in the dog house.
Simply put, it amazes me how internet fans will believe anything they hear.

What’s probably even funnier is that for a guy who’s been in the ‘dog house’ as much as CM Punk has, he sure is pushed hard… This is the same guy who has been pushed in the upper mid card-main event scene for the entire time he’s been with the company. He’s had three world title reigns in three years, been an ECW Champion, an Intercontinental Champion as well as half of the World Tag Team Champions. That doesn’t sound like a guy ‘in the doghouse’ to me. So can internet wrestling ‘journalists’ just stop lying and making things up? Those of us who try to maintain some assemblance of integrity would really appreciate it. I’m sure the wrestlers would, too.

I’m still waiting to hear that John Cena lost his belt because he ate the last piece of pizza.

Now I know Cena is meant to be a bit stupid, but surely he knows what he wears  ;D
