Mickie James Problems?
« on: October 16, 2009, 01:18:22 pm »
There is talk that Mickie James has been frustrated with her position in World Wrestling Entertainment.

Mickie James was said to be unhappy with the manner in which she dropped the Divas title to Jillian Hall on Monday’s RAW, as well as the news she was being moved to SmackDown. It’s interesting to note that before her match with Hall, she kissed the belt goodbye before handing it to the referee.

She has been letting herself go a bit and been blowing spots more often than normal, could her days be numbered?

I remember when she was Trish's stalker - she was sooo fine...

These days I can't help be surprised when she makes an appearance it's a bit 'why are u still here?'

her time has come and gone - I think it's time her (and jillian) moved on

Mickie James has finally commented on WWE’s ongoing mockery of her weight as she feels “the example being set [to girls] is pathetic.” Mickie made the comment while responding to a concerned fan who wrote to her on Twitter regarding WWE cracking jokes about her weight. The worried fan wrote:

“I’m really offended right now with the WWE making jokes about your weight. I’m really worried about girls who watch wrestling, see this kind of thing, and fall victim to hating their bodies. Because honey, if you’re not a perfect 10, I’ve never seen one. Why are they letting this charade happen?”

James responded with the following:

“Awe! Thank you, sweetie. And I agree. I think the example being set is pathetic. Giving the youth a warped perception of beauty. After all… one has to love themselves first. Society makes that hard. No worries. I love myself and my body. 130 is hardly fat.”

A short while later, a story broke online quoting James as saying WWE’s handling of the storyline as “pathetic.” The multi-time champion clarified her initial comments by responding with the following, “I never said WWE…if anyone read it, I said society. If people want to use quotes from my twitter please make sure you quote me correctly!”

While James did not specifically mention WWE in her response, the message which she responded to was strictly related to her employer’s ongoing mockery of her weight.

Interesting that in that article it says "WWE's ongoing mockery of her weight", when it's basically a couple of heels being, well, heels ie. saying bad stuff, taunting, mocking etc. I don't think the WWE as an organisation is saying she's fat....

And I would like to express my support for the comment made by Mr. D earlier. :) (Not the one about December 31)

Cant believe they would run such an angle without her consent...

...why would WWE bully its own employees in such an obvious way? Hell, when they want to bully u they just send u to ECW...

As seen last week on Raw, WWE continued directing thinly veiled personal shots towards Mickie James as Matt Striker uttered disparaging remarks regarding her appearance while on commentary.

While commenting on the Divas’ evening gowns, he said, “Well, I know Kelly Kelly is wearing Vera Wang. I believe Maria might be wearing Gloria Vanderbilt. Mickie James is of course wearing T.J. Maxx.” A few moments later, he followed up his initial comment with the following, “Think Mickie’s wearing Lane Bryant?”

According to the most recent issue of the Wrestling Observer, the belief among wrestlers is that James, who has had her weight mocked in recent weeks, will part ways with the company once her contract expires so she can fully pursue a career in country music.

While news of Mickie leaving WWE to pursue a career in music has not yet been confirmed, many in the company believe that to be the case. Hence, WWE is treating the popular SmackDown Diva poorly on television as a “send-off” of sorts as that’s their way of dealing with the matter.

OK, I know it's not the greatest angle ever, but some sites insist on reporting it like "OMFG, WWE R BULLIES!!11". Watching it on TV, to me it just comes across as some heels being insulting and spiteful. As heels are supposed to be.

I just find it hard to believe there's this big conspiracy in the WWE to mock her before she leaves. Sometimes these articles on wrestling sites read like they've gone "OK, how can we twist this to make the WWE look bad?". I doubt Vince McMahon will ever win 'boss of the year' award or anything, but I think some people are reading a bit too much into this....

^ Very true.

According to the "Internet" CM Punk was unpopular with the higher ups before his Tag, IC, World Title reigns, oh and those 2 MITB wins.  He's had permanent heat, although he's done shockingly well for someone who's supposedly always in the company bad books  :D

Northjersey.com has an interview up with former WWE Women's champion Mickie James. Mickie talks about her musical background, Twitter and her weight.

Q. You were part of a segment a couple weeks ago where one of the other Divas was criticizing your weight. Are you ever hesitant to try a storyline where it tackles an issue like that?

Well, no, because I don't think I'm heavy, for one. I'm only 130, 135 pounds. But at the same time, no, because it's entertainment. Is it my favorite? I don't really know. I guess we'll have to see where it goes. It depends on the payoff. We're telling stories and we're building emotional things where people can actually connect with it. And I think that a lot of women in general, society has put on this thing where every female should look like Paris Hilton who is 6-foot something, and 100 pounds. That's not how America is and that's not how the real women in the world look.
