In some great news for WWE fans, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson told the Jack Diamond Morning Show in Washington, D.C. that he is working closely with World Wrestling Entertainment to create a special edition of programming, and also indicated he has a “great relationship” with Vince McMahon.

“I love that world and being able to entertain, especially if I could go back and it’s on Smackdown and do a promo or guest host or we could create this cool show, whatever that may be,” Johnson said. “Especially now, I’m at the point where I can go back and give back to the fans and help out guys in any way I can…

“Right now, we’re trying to put together - there is always something cool and interesting for me to do. I would like to do something more than just host the show. I’m in the process of creating something really cool for the fans - something very special and unique. It will be something like one big entertaining show.”

Vince just needs to offer him millions to return full time - he'd make his money back easily

From JR's latest Blog:

We’re getting lots of emails about a few radio interviews that Dwayne Johnson has done recently talking about doing something with WWE down the road beyond hosting a Monday Night Raw. I would bet a 6 Pak Challenge and throw in a case of BBQ Sauce that those remarks don’t mean that Dwayne is thinking about wrestling again. I do not see that occurring but his appearances could mean an unlimited number of other things that don’t include putting on the tights. Time will tell.

Dwayne obviously feels WWE will mean he's not taken seriously as an actor

but look at the roles he takes - kid films, wwe would only be a plus.

Offer him a deal whereby he misses house shows and need wrestle only occaisionally to get him back. His 5 min promo each week is all that's needed to pick the whole company up

It’s been heavily rumored that Dwayne Johnson would be making a one-night return to WWE early next year as the special guest host of an episode of Raw. In an update on the situation, “The Rock” is saying he hasn’t decided upon what day that would be. January, which was the time period primarily discussed with WWE, looks to be challenging and unlikely considering he’s going to be so busy with the publicity campaign for his next movie, Tooth Fairy. WWE reportedly had their sights set on Johnson hosting Raw on either the 4th or the 11th.

On another note, Johnson is saying Tooth Fairy will be his final family comedy movie for a while as he’s looking to move on to different types of roles. He said he set a goal three years ago to do family comedy movies for a while, but feels the time has come to explore other opportunities. The Other Guys, where Johnson worked with Samuel L. Jackson, recently concluded filming and will be out this summer. And once the publicity campaign for Tooth Fairy has completed, he’ll immediately begin shooting his next film, Faster, with Billy Bob Thornton (scheduled for January 22, 2010). Hence, if and when Johnson returns to WWE, it will likely take place in March at the earliest.

While Johnson’s saying he wants to return, he hasn’t decided on what the best scenario would be, so he may not necessarily come back as the host of Raw. (source: Wrestling Observer Newsletter)

I wonder if he'd look "small" opposite him, he has slimmed down in Hollywood and for the sake of one night probably wouldn't get "big" again, and Cena looks "enhanced".  ;)
