Wrestlemania 26 Plans (Spoilers)
« on: November 25, 2009, 10:48:49 pm »
Source: PWInsider.com

- There is a feeling in WWE that something ’special’ needs to be done with The Undertaker for WrestleMania 26 this year, and more importantly something fresh that the fans haven’t seen before. This is why the potential match with John Cena is being touted at the moment.

- There is also talk of a Triple H vs. Shawn Michaels match at WrestleMania 26. As often as the pair have wrestled each other, they have never had a match on a WrestleMania stage and it is something that has been talked about over the last 2 months.

- At one point, there had been a plan for a CM Punk vs. Rey Mysterio match at WrestleMania 26, but this is unlikely to happen now considering Mysterio’s injury problems.

...wasnt it HHH v HBK V Benoit at 'Mania - dont understand the 'never had a match at 'Mania' comment...

WM26 plans eh, who could the Undertaker face in a match u believe he'll lose

Vs Cena...heel Cena?

Just hire The Rock for one night only...

The Great One vs The Dead One - will The Rock really lose in his sole match and with 80 kids films to promote? Ohh the mystery!

...surely even Dwayne would be up for a single match and the inevitable $1 million at 'mania?

They've never had that BIG 1 vs 1 match at 'Mania thats the point, the big build-up, with nobody else involved, half the build-up was all about, can Benoit finally achieve his dream...

The Undertaker vs Rock match isn't a bad idea, Izzy.  Rock's latest film Planet 51 bombed in its opening weekend here in the US.   Triple HHH vs Shawn Michaels--I'm not a fan of that one.  I just really hate how they all have to book this stuff in advance.  It limits their flexibility and if one of the big players get injured, they're ****.

Bad idea to release the movie the same day New Moon came out.

But that's how the feuds have so much meaning and depth, the good long build.

I'd say after the segment a few weeks ago Piper vs Mcmahon is definately on the radar too...

...and if he returns from injury Edge vs. Chris Jericho

As for The Rock's latest film bombing, reports for years have been doing medicore films, and being a moderate stars nets him way more money, is kinder to his body and he is taken more seriously than he once was (even doing kids films) and in many respects, for the most part, he has on the whole, moved on with his life, I've always been surprised he has never been tempted back, or more to the point Vince hasn't been able to, but if he hasn't after all this time I doubt anything is going to change as far as an in-ring comeback goes.  Personally I couldn't really judge his movies, I've only seen like one.

Anyone remember Taker/Cena doing PPVs? Back in 03? This match would  have been a hell of a lot cooler at WM26 had Cena kept his undefeated streak at Mania. Or is he still undefeated in singles matches with his only loss coming in a 3way bout?

20 he beat Big Show, 21 JBL, 22 Triple H, 23 HBK, 24 lost in the Triple Threat and this year won the Triple Threat (I think, my memory is drawing a bit of a blank...over Edge and Show I think).

So yeah with wrestling history/rules he has never lost in 1 on 1 action so that'll work.

I do remember back in '03, I was gutted 'Taker didn't put him over back then (I'm pretty sure he didn't).

That was back when Cena's character was the STUFF and he had some great battles with Undi and Brock.

Cena is so dull, doesn't have a gimmick anymore

go back to the bad rapper gimmick, it was funny and seemed to work (though made the forums despise him)

You can't deny though that Cena is by far the hardest worker in all of WWE. The dude showed up to a Smackdown taping the day after or even the day of one of his recent surgeries. The WWE basically put the company on his back for a while and he ran with it. Other than HHH, I have seen very few people who have achieved his level of success and then continued to still bust their ass. I think Cena deserves every bit of his success and I think the knock on him from the Internet fans is highly uncalled for. Having said all that I wish he would go back to heel-rapper 03/04 Cena but that won't happen anytime soon.

Being a hard worker, being a dedicated worker, being a nice guy, are all well and good, I don't dislike the guy, but all those qualities don't mean he is actually a quality worker  ;)

I disagree. The dude got a decent match out of Khali.Anyway, none of these guys are gonna be putting on 5 star Meltzer matches. The company is called World Wrestling ENTERTAINMENT and that is what he is paid to do,entertain.

He's not a bad guy, it's just that whenever I watch his matches I notice his faults (wrestling wise) and they just annoy me.  I just wish he was at a normal workrate level.  He's getting carried by his opponents during his matches.

I don't think he was carried by anyone in that Triple Threat Match.

I'd prefer Cena as champion than HHH or most.

I think people over react to his faults and he is one of the most unique wrestlers of all time. He divides crowds and thats a great thing.

Is he the best worker in the world ..... No. But his matches always invoke the best crowd reaction and i think Live fans like that. And he certainly isn't the worst wrestler to be world champion.

Half love to boo him and half love to cheer him and at the end i think he deserves all the sucess he has.

So if Undertaker vs Cena is set to be @ WM do we assume that both will lose their titles at some point?

On SD you can see Taker losing his title to Batista or Jericho.... but who will Cena lose to? Can't be Orton for a while.... HHH probally not.... HBK doubt that.... WHO?
