WWE also "Giving Up" On Jack Swagger?
« on: November 26, 2009, 10:44:44 am »
The latest issue of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that WWE has “given up” on pushing Jack Swagger to superstardom as he has not quite panned out as officials had initially hoped.

When he first showed up on the WWE scene a little over a year ago, “The All-American American” was pegged as the future of the company due to his tremendous size. Nowadays, he’s considered a comedy figure ranked slightly lower than Chavo Guerrero on the Raw pecking order. Furthermore, some feel he’s in danger of becoming “this year’s Chris Masters.”

Further down the pecking order than Chavo?  How do they figure that.

Clearly he's been lost a bit in the shuffle, and pairing him with those goons on RAW wasn't a good sign, but I swear these Dirt Sheets just see someone lost a few matches and then automatically post a story saying their career is on the slide.

I still maintain we could have a NEWZ site based on guess work  ;D

Hammy, you know that Meltzer is like as close as it gets to fact for dirtsheets. I think the Observer,PWTORCH ( to an extent) and PWINSIDER (with Scherer,Johnson and Woodward) are the only legit sites that break news.

As for Swagger?meh, I can take him or leave him.

I know it just seems too coincidental.

I mean rather than telling us before hand, his push is going to stop, they wait until they are being jobbed out and tell us that creative have given up on them, like it is shocking news, I'm just skeptical, although it does seem Swagger and Ziggler's potential spots have gone to McIntyre and Sheamus....

Don't like Swagger - see nothing in him, nothing at all

...and that monkey entrance...

Honestly, my WWE would be rid of him

The entrance is all cocky though, and the push ups I always thought was a cocky homage to Scott Steiner?

Surely that'd make him a winner for ya?

I guess one of his failings is his lisp, they seem to have whoever he is feuding with make fun of it...

I quite like Swagger, apart from the chest-beating thing and that vacant look he sometimes has on his face after a match....

Like the gimmick though, and he's clearly one of the better 'wrestlers' on Raw...

From someone that does Freestyle Wrestling I think Swagger is a joy to watch. He has a great style, it defines what professional wrestling should be in my opinion. Amateur influences with a hint of showmanship. Who else today shoots for a double leg takedown, hits the duck under, and lifts him up for the takedown?  It beats the oh so common collar and elbow tie up. :D

I'm wondering where this current angle is going with him.

2 weeks, 2 challenges, 2 failures.  Is this leading up to a good Rumble performance where he gets retribution on Henry and Santino, or is he going to get eliminated really quickly, continue to get squashed and then just get endeavoured, it doesn't look great at the moment.

He'll certainly not get endeavoured he's a former ECW Champion. Not anytime soon anyways. WWE gave Haas a raise just to sit at home and do nothing when he asked for his release recently just because they didn't want to see him go to TNA. Regardless of what opinion WWE officials have of Swagger, it would be silly to let him go.

I swear a guy like Haas escapes it because he's so good in the ring he is a worthwhile jobber, dude to teach the younger guys and guy to take many bumps on the road.  They've released plenty of talented guys over the years simply because they had nothing for them, Elijah Burke for instance.

Swagger would be repackaged first (must be a plan b gimmick) and if that didn't work - he'd be gone

do not like him at all
