ECW to end, replaced with new show NXT
« on: December 01, 2009, 07:38:27 pm »
PWInsider.com is reporting that WWE has had preliminary discussions with SyFy officials concerning a possible re-branding of ECW in 2010.

At this point, it's being said that the main change will most likely be ridding the show of its "ECW" title, and possibly renaming it to something that would be more appropriate to a show that features up and coming talent.

The show would most likely change its look a bit as well, although for the most part it is expected to remain similar to the way it is now in terms of programming, focusing on new, up and coming talent who will later make the switch to either Raw or Smackdown.

Talks backstage about revamping the ECW brand have picked up within WWE as of late. No specific details regarding changes are known but some say that SyFy has began re-pushing its original idea of incorporating science fiction and alternative segments into the program. The feeling is that the ECW name will still be dropped.

As the questions says, what would you call the new ECW?

The fact that it misrepresents the original ECW aside, its a damn good wrestling show, because it gets paid little attention by Vince its a heck of a good way to have new young stars given a chance, rebranded I think people will be more accepting as many people's issues haven't been its bad, just its not ECW.

I noticed someone of the interweb suggested "Tuesday Night Adrenaline".  Wonder how that would go down with Hogan?

They'd never do that anyway, they won't even acknowledge their existence, they don't consider them competition and wouldn't want to do anything that gives them attention and might lead to them actually being competition.

And surely some **** brand got the copyright on "TNA" years ago  :P

WWE better wake up.. TNA are already competition. that 1.4 is dangerously approaching Smackdown.

Dude, they may become competition, but seriously, they aren't yet.

Smackdown, the #2 show for WWE did a 2.6 the other week, thats nearly double TNA's 1.4

Call it something like WWE Supernova or WWE Uprising if you are gonna keep the youth theme.
This is how it works, You're young until you're not
You love until you don't, You try until you can't
You laugh until you cry, You cry until you laugh
And everyone must breathe, Until their dying breath

Chances are it'll just be something crap like WWE Universe since they like saying it enough already.
