In the past month, 3 new stars have arrived on the brand via this initiative, I was just wondering what people thought of them.
The 3 in question are Vance Archer and the team of Caylen Croft and Trent Barreta.
Vance Archer is obviously more famously known as TNA's Lance Hoyt. Now I always liked him in TNA, as a babyface at one time he was one of the most over guys in the company, but between pissing off management and getting repackaged he eventually became a jobber in that company. When WWE signed him, many weren't optimistic due to WWE's past handling of Ex-TNA stars (See: Branden, Cor Von). What worked in his favour was he is a big man, and for his size quite agile in the ring, hell he hits a superb moonsault off the top rope. In development reports weren't great, some saying he'd been repackaged as a "Robin Hood" character. He debuted the about a month ago as Vance Archer with a new short haircut. So far I've been impressed, they have slowly built him up as an unhinged, monster and I think he'll win the ECW Title within the next 6 months, what is also promising is he has shown in the past that when they do turn him face, he can be great in that role as well, I think he has a lot of promise.
Croft & Barreta like many in the Intiative debuted to little fanfare. 3 weeks and 3 wins, this week Trent spoke for the first time and seems like a good talker, they show plenty of cocky charisma in the ring, have some cool double team moves and until it was changed this week, had a decent entrance theme. The question is, on ECW, how far can they go? With no teams on the brand to feud with they are waiting on the Tag Titles becoming midcard belts and the Champions showing up on the brand, I like these guys but maybe after a feud with the team of Goldust and Tommy Dreamer they should be switching brands.
