Hogan/Bischoff - so far so....?
« on: January 23, 2010, 11:21:49 pm »

TNA at present is 50% brilliant and 50% Aweful IMO.

that's my summary too

what I like:

show has an energy it hasn't had since the fornight period that Russo replaced Jarrett mid 2009. TNA does have a 'anything could happen feel'

big names - TNA had 90% of all big household names currently active in pro wrestling.

Multiple intresting story arcs - nwo, jarrett/foley vs, angle v styles

rising production values

what I dislike:

clusterfuck booking - where are they going with anything?

TNA guys buried in favour of older guys

the platform to the ring - WTF?

The death of the X division. It's been on the card for a year but it's now complete. Not one x division wrestler was on the show this week. In 2008 x division matches would be a third to half of the matches.

3 weeks in - what are your thoughts?

absolutely love it

I feel like i cannot miss it. Its exciting, holds my attention, feels spontaneous and like anything can happen... the feuds seem to have real fire and are stuff u want to see unlike WWE who have the same feuds over and over but yet feel meaningless.

TNA right now are in a sorting phase, so i give them the benefit of the doubt on certain things.. right now Hogan and Bisch are trying to figure out who they can push and who they can't, so right now is sort of a trying out phase and once that is complete, steam should pick up and it should start really dominating.

Its funny coz i agree and disagree with both of you.

Let me first say i dont think it matters how many side a ring has. However i do like the ramp to the ring. Alot of ECW used a similar ramp and it made it more interesting for sure.

Kennedy, Hardy, Kendrick - Yes

Hall, Waltman, Nasty Boys - No

TNA need to re-grow the Samoa Joe & Abyss charecters IMO. Both have massive potential but seem to be getting bypassed.

There is definatly some shaky backstage happens. Get rid of Bubba! But i agree with D that there was always bound to be some people that didn't fit into the new plan. TNA's problem is what to do with them? release them and let them go to WWE, but have a more harmonus dressing room or keep them around as a poison to the dressing room.

there are far too many talented people in TNA not being used enough. You'll never convince me that Wolfe or Pope deserves more ring time than people like Daniels, Shelly, Sabin or Lethal.

The X-divison title is unique in terms of the title has no prestige limit attached. By that i mean that the World Title is a main event title and the Tag titles are midcard titles.... however the X-Division is all about the match quality and the prestige of the champion. If Jeff Hardy or RVD was champion the title immedatley would be considered more serious and i think it needs to happen sooner rather than later. Jeff Hardy could have singles feuds with Homicide, Shelly, Lethal, Suicide, Daniels.... which could give Jeff a year long reign which i think would really put TNA and the X-Divison on the map.

I'd like to see AJ with a long run and Jeff Hardy with a long X-Divison run maybe with a match at the end of it for both titles. That would be hard to not watch.

Only Problem i have with Hogan so far is giving his buddies jobs. I don't mind the nasty boys in a **** type blood bath with Team 3D, that would be pretty great.

TNA need to get organized.

This is where WWE went to crap.

when WWE were awesome, Every storyline on Raw meant something. So you would have 5 or 6 feuds going on, and each one held your attention. You would have a great world title scene, Great IC scene, remember when The Rock and SCSA feuded for the IC title and Austin threw it in the river or whatever??? That was the IC TITLE and an amazing main event level feud for it.

Tag title picture was awesome and then u had the divas of course but then the **** title which was always exciting and entertaining. that 24-7 stuff was gold.

So TNA need to get organized.

World Title picture, X Division, Tag, Knockouts and then bring in a **** division, Drop the stupid Legend's title and make sure each one of these is represented each show

doesn't seem too hard.

sit down and make interesting storylines and feuds for each thing listed.

Right now though, like I said, I think they are trying the wrestlers out, having them "Earn" spots and then u will see something like this, cause WCW massacred WWE by doing this at first. U had the NWO and the main event stuff, u had the excellent US Title feuds, excellent tag division and then Cruiserweights and they blended it perfect.

Bischoff said he wouldn't make the same mistakes twice, so here is to hoping
