Carlito or Primo?
« on: July 07, 2009, 07:31:49 pm »
Now they've split up which one is going to be more successful.

Carlito was on the fringe for years with IC and US Title reigns.  Dirtsheets said he never got past midcard because those in the back thought he was lazy.  Before Primo showed up he was jobbed out and on the verge of being released.  A decent talker and wrestler, he does better in the role of heel, heck now he even qualifies as a member of Legacy which could really help elevate him.

Primo is very similiar to Carlito.  We have mainly seen him in Tag Matches so its hard to judge but I think he may have the edge wrestling wise and he seems like a decent talker to.  As a babyface you wonder where he fits on RAW and is he destined to get lost in the shuffle once these two have a feud and then move on.

It's close but I'm edging towards Carlito.

Carlito is going to be the HBK of this group.  Right now they are both lower midcarders at best.  Look at the midcard scene

Both the US and IC belts are held by bright faces of the company. They will need fueds and HEELS to face them.  Look at Carlito as a HEEL again he could be fueding with either Rey or Kofi. Or As mentioned earlier he could be put into legacy and fit right in, Carlito as a Heel is far beter then a Carlito Face.  If anything they could also tag him up with another Heel and have a heel Tag team.  I think the opportunities are endless whether or not WWE uses him that way time will tell.

Looking at Primo I don't see as much promise for him.  There are so many other midcard faces out there there really isnt much for him and with his size he could easily be the next jamie noble jobber.  Without a cruiserweight division & belt I dont see much of anything for primo.

Carlito I think. I agree with Cowbell that he's better as a heel. I liked Carlito when he first debuted as Carlito Caribbean Cool (long name but it sounded good) and had the Hawaiian shirt and stole the US Title from John Cena in his first match. Unfortunatley he got injured not long after and his name got shortened and he became a face somewhere down the line. Hopefully now he's a heel, he'll have a similar sort of character.

He needs to lost the facial hair too IMO. :P

Primo, once done feuding with Carlito, I don't see much for him to do....

I've never actually seen Primo wrestle, but he looks like a teenager or something with that 'tache.

I don't know, it's close but I'd have to go with Primo..for now. They might build Carlito up a little or stick him in Legacy for a few months but at the end of the day he's not going anywere. He'll probably end up crying again to management when he's left off the next Wrestlemania and eventually get himself fired. Primo is obviously a good wrestler and seems more over with the crowd. I think if Primo got the right push he could be at the calibre of a young Eddie Guerrero. But more than likely, he will be a suitable candidate for the "superstars you think they dropped the ball with" in about 6 months, as WWE and their genius writers will probably give him some stupid gimmick like a Puerto Rican country singer, change his name to Primo Phoenix, pair him with Jimmy Wang Yang, and have him future endeavoured by the end of the year.

Negative..Perhaps.
Realistic?..Yup.

If I worked for creative I would have to go with that idea.

Primo singing with Jimmy Wang Yang.  What a team  :P

I was disappointed Carlito never debuted his new look the other year he'd tried on house shows...

And which cheeky mofo said they both suck...  :D

If he does infact join Legacy he'll definitely need to lose the afro...well a bit anyways. I always thought this was his best hair style:

Seeing as Primo split from his brother, thus ending the tag team that consisted of the two of them, does this mean he's now a semi-Colon??

Sorry, that's the best I've got for now.

Without a cruiserweight division primo isn't going anywhere. I bet both colons are flushed out of the wwe by the next wm

You say that but the lack of a Cruiserweight Division hasn't prevented Kidd and Bourne from doing well.  Although with talents like that on the roster you could justify bringing the belt back.

JR said it in his recent blog, Primo would benefit from moving brands... i.e. to a wrestling orientated one.

I'd love to see the WWE bring back the "Light Heavyweight" Title. Like the world championship for smaller guys. It could really be worth something if done correctly. Make it tri-branded.  Imagine the possibilities:

Evan Bourne
Yoshi Tatsu
Tyson Kidd
Gregory Helms
Jimmy Wang Yang
Jamie Noble
Chavo Guerrero
Primo
The Brian Kendrick
Kung Fu Naki

Bring in a few lightweight upcomers from developmental and we're all set. It would be awesome an relatively easy to pull off.

Well it seems these 2 are going to feud rather than going their seperate ways straight away as so many split teams do.

Primo losing to Miz was just a way to push things along and keep Miz occupied, I'd like them to have Carlito do something more brutal than the apple spitting to really get some heat in this feud, the way Cole sold it you'd have thought Carlito caved in Primo's head with a sledgehammer, it just seemed odd.
