XWA Wrestling
« on: February 11, 2010, 09:13:24 am »
www.xwawrestling.com

Came across this while browsing the internet at work and noticed that it's based in Morecambe.  Now, I've lived in Lancaster (down the road from Morecambe) for, well, all my life and I'm 36 and never known that  this was around here.  Even the training studios are in Morecambe.

Anyway, my lads clocked it and have blagged me into getting front row tickets for the "War On The Shore 6" event on 3rd April.

Anyone else of this or seen any of the shows.  They even has an event called XWA: Goldrush, which features a 15 man over the top rope rumble.  Great stuff and, along with the lads, can't wait to go see it.  WWE, unfortunately, is well out of my price range at the minute.

Looking at the roster, they've got some quality guys.

"Rockstar" Spud, Jonny Storm and Alex Shane are some of the best guys on the British Scene.

Spud is a highly touted Cruiserweight and I do believe he trained (back in the day) at the same place Rankin has/does train at.

Jonny Storm has been on the British Scene for years and I think he appeared in TNA in 2003ish as part of the World X Cup.

Alex Shane another top talent has his own column in wrestling/mma mag FSM.

Nature of being a fan for nearly 2 decades, to be honest outside the major promotion (s) my knowledge isn't too vast.

Good to see you actually get decent wrestling shows coming to town, last time I went to one near me it was horrendous, it was on a stage, with a guy with a mic getting the kids to join in, a Fake Undertaker and to cut a longt story short, it was like a kids pantomine.

When I was really young we did actually get some quality wrestlers coming to our town for shows, I remember seeing Robbie Brookside (who used to wrestle and train with William Regal) and Giant Haystacks amongst others.

Well, Morecambe seem to have done ok with getting wrestling to the town.  I remember as a kid going to watch a bit with my dad and they had Big Daddy, Giant Haystack et al.  Was great stuff.
