TNA Reportedly Having Financial Problems
« on: March 26, 2010, 06:44:53 pm »
One oft-overlooked factor in TNA’s destiny to compete with rival promotion World Wrestling Entertainment are the added expenses entailed.

Since January, the company has ballooned its roster to over 70 performers with the notable additions of high priced stars such as Ric Flair, Rob Van Dam, Jeff Hardy and the former Mr. Kennedy. Furthermore, the company has added the costly expense of going live every other Monday night and promotion of said move (i.e. airing commercials during Monday Night Raw and running Billboards in Times Square). Other than slight bumps in house show attendance and merchandise sales, TNA has to little to show for its efforts. In fact, ratings are at its lowest levels in four years due to the move to Monday nights.

Wrestling Observer editor Dave Meltzer cryptically said during a recent episode of Wrestling Observer Radio that TNA is having bigger financial problems than most realize.

“I’m worried about my friends who work for TNA because they have bigger financial problems than anyone knows,” Meltzer said.

Its the final two years of WCW repeating itself. The exact same mistakes are happening, and not surprisingly the same people are involved in its downfall.

Within 2 or 3 years, Mcmahon will own this company.

Enjoy it while it lasts.....

What Angers me is that this inflated roster does not need to be inflated.

TNA has alot of dead weight in my opinion.

Paying people like Flair, Hall, Foley, Waltman, Nash, Bischoff, Nasty Boys, Hogan, Bubba isn't cheap. But looking at those name how many are needed?

I'd say Hogan and Bischoff - yes. The rest should bugger off.

AJ, Joe, Angle, RVD, Jeff Hardy, Anderson, Morgan, Sting (8) - There's your main event

Hernandez, Pope, Wolfe, Daniels, Eric Young, Abyss, Jeff Jarrett, Rhino (8) - There's your singles midcard.

MCMG, GenerationME, Dudleys, Beer Money, British Invasion (10) - There's your Tag Division

Kaz, Shannon Moore, Jay Lethal, Creed, Kendrick, Red, Homicide, Doug Williams (8) - There's your X-Division

Angelina Love, Tara, Wilde, Beautiful People, Sarita, Hamada (8) - Womens

How the hell do you need 70 workers? even with commentators & backstage staff it should only be a maximum of 50.

Cut the fat and get the big names on every show. Get feuds going that means something.
This is how it works, You're young until you're not
You love until you don't, You try until you can't
You laugh until you cry, You cry until you laugh
And everyone must breathe, Until their dying breath

In their defense, I think the wrestlers only get paid per appearance so if they don't get on Impact or the PPV it's not as big an issue.  But some of these guys are redundant--Flair, Foley and Nash serve the same purpose.  Bubba doesn't draw crap and is only there as a friend of Hogan.  He also caused Awesome Kong's departure.  I'm also not convinced that Sting has a future in TNA.  I think Vince will make a hard push to have him at next year's WCW themed Wrestlemania.

What in the blue hell?

Thats a bit like saying Hitler might throw a rally for Stalin or Live Aid might have a Charles Manson concert...

Next years wrestlemania occurs somewhere deep in WCW territory - but Vince aint going to take his pride and joy and taint it!

Judging by the way Vince treats his family and even his company Wrestlemania may be the one thing he truly loves
