New WWE Stable?
« on: April 08, 2010, 07:33:20 pm »
The Legacy split was scheduled for Ted DiBiase to start a heel stable known as The Fortunate Sons. Early plans call for DiBiase to be paired alongside younger brother Brett as well as Joe Hennig.

I guess it kinda elevates Ted as he'd be the obvious leader of the stable.  As for the others aren't they gonna need to get plenty of screen time.  This stable could possibly take a good while to find it's feet.

If they pushed them it could work, the issue with Legacy is for 85% of their existence they were treated as jobbers.

That's the thing that will determine whether this would be a success.  They need to be pushed and it needs doing right.

I hate the name but i also dont really like the dynamic.

I would prefer the option of something like this:

Non Wrestling Father Figure - Vince McMahon, Jim Ross etc - A good vocal talent is useful. Someone who is believable as someone who could pass on knowledge. If they had power like a GM or owner, thats even better.

Main Eventer - HHH, CM Punk, Edge, Jericho, Batista, Sheamus etc. This person will be the focus of the stable originally, using the other members to make the sucessful

Promising Midcarder - Dibiase, Swagger, Drew McIntrye, Ziggler, Miz etc - The idea is that this person is a future World Champion.

The Loyal Stable Member - A role that Ken Shamrock played to perfection in the corporation. Someone who get beaten up alot to protect the More important members along with the muscle and the young guns. Usually a older guy or more expericnced talemted worker like a William Regal, Shelton Benjamin or Matt Hardy etc

The Muscle - Big Show, Zeke etc - Someone who probally doesn't have much chance of being the face of the company, but has the look of a monster.

New Young Tag Team - Two NXT rookies or two development workers. Charisma is a must, Joe Hennig & Brett Dibiase sound ideal for this sort of thing.

I make that a 7 man stable with 6 working wrestlers. The Muscle and the Loyal Stable Member will never get any further than when they began, but the Main Eventer looks strong as he will probally have a lengthy Title run, The Promising Midcarder will eventully turn on the Main Eventer.... beating him (maybe for the title) thus putting him on the map with a big time feud and title run.

It also offers a good chance for the young tag team to get over and potentially get two more stars as a bonus!

This is how it works, You're young until you're not

You laugh until you cry, You cry until you laugh
And everyone must breathe, Until their dying breath

I'd love a "7 Man Stable" or heck even a "5 Man" one, these days we can't get passed 3 members...

Agreed. Just having young workers around bigger stars in bigger angles and matches helps younger guys. It can also help people who are a little void of "Charisma"

Take the D-Generation X reunion, that would have been a sure fire way to elevate some new guys, they dropped the ball there.

Look at Straight Edge Society, they are great but brainwashing a few other guys "Lost in the shuffle" and giving them something to do definately wouldn't do any harm.

Ted DiBiase is expected to make his return to the RAW brand this Monday, which is the three hour special edition of the 2010 Draft. The new heel group, The Fortunate Sons, which include the DiBiase brothers and Joe Hennig is expected to take form some time in May.

If Henning and Brett are the tag team, Ted the leader i can definatly see big Zeke Jackson as the enforcer. There was that bit on last weeks RAW with Ted and R-Truth, looking for a new Virgil - fits that perfectly.

The Wrestling Observer is reporting that WWE had plans to move both Brett DiBiase and Joe Henning to the main roster several weeks ago, however, a knee injury which was sustained by DiBiase back on April 29th at an FCW taping prevented the move. It's being reported that both DiBiase and Hennig were scheduled to be called up to the Raw brand as a heel faction along with a third wrestler.
