WWE Wrestlemania 27 - April 3rd 2011

- Last week WWE had a tentative WrestleMania line-up written that included John Cena vs. The Miz for the WWE Title and Randy Orton vs. CM Punk.

No word yet on what this means for their plans for the Punk vs. Cena program that is currently going on but with two pay-per-views between now and WrestleMania, it would be hard not to have a Punk vs. Cena match before WrestleMania, depending on how they planned to do the angle with Nexus involved.

Obviously things will be changed depending on Cena?s injury.

It's really inexcusable not have one or two long term feuds already underway by this point.

An article posted by the UK-based Sun newspaper is stating that World Wrestling Entertainment is currently hard at work trying to sign Sting.

According to the article, Vince McMahon wants Sting to be a part of WrestleMania 27 as well as inducting him into the WWE Hall of Fame, especially with both events taking place in Atlanta, Georgia, the former home of the long-defunct World Championship Wrestling (WCW).

Even though he is still listed as part of TNA's roster, Sting is currently a free agent due to his contract with the company expiring late last year.

Hope so.  With HBK gone, and Undertaker a question mark they need something or someone special for the event.  Sting vs. Anyone @ 'Mania just for the build and spectacle of it all would be f'n awesome!

The first inductee, none other than possibly the greatest of our lifetimes, The Show Stoppa,The Main Event,The Icon: The Heartbreak Kid Shawn Michaels. I can't wait for his speech and I expect either Vinnie Mac or Hunter to induct him. I'd say that Sting is out then as I can't see him playing second fiddle unless there was some kind of co-headliner type thing.

Can't complain about Shawn going in. Though it seems to throw the WCW-themed HOF rumour out the window.

Who else might go in this year? Jake Roberts maybe? The British Bulldog? WARRIAH??

Also read elsewhere 2 other big names have been secured.  If Sting is one of them this is even more must see.

Word is Arn Anderson is a lock, as great of a talent as he is, his love for kayfabe drives me nuts, expect him to attack Sting to keep storyline consistency....

They should induct Magnum T.A. cause if not for car accident, he would've been.

- There was talk this week of doing some kind of Nexus vs. The Corre match, presumably at WrestleMania 27. It?s possible that there will be some kind of confrontation between the two groups at the Royal Rumble.

- WWE officials are now going with the idea that Christian won?t be back in time for WrestleMania 27. His situation is described as ?touch and go.?

- Alberto Del Rio vs. Edge for the World Heavyweight Title has been at least discussed for WrestleMania 27. Dolph Ziggler, Edge?s Royal Rumble opponent, has also been discussed as a possible opponent for WrestleMania.

? Providing that The Undertaker is healthy enough to compete in a singles match at WrestleMania XXVII, there has been talk of ?The Deadman? facing his opponent at WrestleMania X-Seven, Triple H.

Shawn Michaels as the bout?s special guest referee has also been discussed. He recently stated that he reached a new contractual agreement with WWE, but would not be returning the ring as a wrestler. He did not, however, rule out special appearances or becoming an on-air character at some point.

? Regarding the report of Kimbo Slice making an appearance at WrestleMania XXVII, the mixed martial artist?s name has been internally brought up as a potential special enforcer for The Undertaker at the event.

- As noted before, there is talk that Shawn Michaels wants Ric Flair to attend the WWE Hall of Fame this year in Atlanta when he is inducted.

Those close to Flair say that the current TNA star would likely have little to no interest in attending. It?s believed WWE officials would allow him to attend but would keep him away from cameras.

This was leaked/posted onto WWE.COM for a few minutes on Monday before it was taken down.  Remember WWE.com also leaked Daniel Bryan's return a few months ago







That might also help explain the 2/21/11 stuff.  It's on a Monday and it's in California where a certain famous wrestler lives.  I have to admit the image is pretty cool even if it is ripping off the Dark Knight.
