Don't get me wrong, I love Howard Finkel, he's a great announcer, and should have a bigger role in the company. I would love to see Fink doing the announcing job on either Raw or Smackdown. (Justin Roberts is certainly nothing special) it's just that it pisses me off that the WWE are probably going to replace Lilian with some stupid bimbo with a Torrie Wilson like voice and after Garcia being there for 10 years, it should be given to someone who rightfully derserves the spot. Infact, The Fink is probably the only person I would welcome into the role.

Agreed that annoys me to.

I do believe when the story first broke it was in part because WWE were advertising for a new female ring announcer  :(

Maybe we could have a guest ring announcer every week...

If I had my way, (realistically speaking) I'd have; Howard Finkel on Raw, Tony Chimel on Smackdown, and Justin Roberts on ECW. I've never had a problem with Tony Chimel, infact I always liked his announcing especially the way he always put an extra emphasis on words like back in his 2003 heyday; "The United States Champion....JANNN See Naaa!"  :hihi:

As for guest ring announcers, nobody springs to mind, as long as they actually knew the friggin wrestlers names, had it memorized first and didn't have to read them off of little sheet cards, It might work.  :P

Well, at the very least they need someone who people can stand to listen to every week. Even though she did make a couple of mistakes here and there, at least Lilian had a good voice. I'm sure roles such as the ring announcer play more of a part than perhaps we give them credit for. You don't want someone who doesn't know the product, sounds bored, sounds over-excited etc.

Finkel should get the job but I doubt he will. My memory's a bit vague, was he ever a regular announcer on TV shows??

And I agree with Axl4Life, Tony Chimel is a decent announcer. Not sure why they sent him off to ECW.

Its the little things that contribute to the bigger picture, good announcers, commentators, presentation and storylines.

The really good ones stand out and contribute to that "Special" feel.  I've liked it with WCW and how they got Michael Buffer for the Main Events, always made them feel extra special, although his reported wages probably didn't quite justify him.

I think Fink would be good in the just for the Main Events role, he is damn good and has that big time sound and is a legend in the business.

That crowd was dead during Trish's first appearance....

And how many HIAC matches are there going to be at this PPV? That's two announced, just from Raw. I figure the SD main event will be one too. 3 HIACs in one night?? :gtfo:

EDIT: Also, for the first time, I've never heard of next week's guest host....

Yeah but dude its the name of the event, its to be expected, I guess?

Its better really when the gimmick suits the feud.  Rather than the last and upcoming PPV, the right Main Events could of had the proper builds and been given the gimmick match which was most fitting.

Take Punk vs. Taker, they didn't want to take the belt off Punk but didn't want 'Taker tapping, the match choice was ****, but because of the nature of the PPV they restricted themselves to how things could play out.

I'd rather have had one good HIAC than 3 poor ones

Too many of them now - and when they never leave the cell its nothing more than a **** match anyway (but with a restricted view)

Random RAW thoughts:

Was it wrong I enjoyed seeing Batista return?

And did he have glitter on his nose or has it got it pierced?

Trish Stratus, a sight for sore eyes, another welcome return, she seemed damn smug or was she just relaxed?

Primo’s entrance theme must be one of the worst I’ve ever heard....

Lillian Garcia is ready for a Triple Threat match, shame she isn’t getting one...

Alicia Fox #1 Contender eh?  Well she does seem to have developed some semblance of wrestling skills over night, not to keen on the outty belly button though

Just when you thought Trish was all about the wrestling, there is that big Yoga banner in the background...

I knew Beth was big, but that segment with her, Trish and Jericho highlighted it when Beth looked nearly as big as Jericho, I wonder if Beth gets drug tested?

Jericho vs. Barker, book it!

Are you ready? To accept that even with a lisp Cody is a better talker than Ted...

...Well they didn’t make D-X tap, they made Shawn tap and heck Benoit, Angle, Bret, Jericho have all done that, still very good names to be associated with.

You screwed Bret chants?  It’s not surprising WWE keep mentioning and re-doing the screw job when fans continue to go on about it, it was 1997, move on!

Carlito and Chavo jobbing to Hornswoggle in tag team action now, not good, even with Bourne involved

I’m sure I read Trish had her implants taken out, I must have misread that, I think

Rusty, she botched The Matrix move...

...and Henry stood next to her, bloody hell, it looked like he could eat her in one go

I feel I should know who Cedric "The Entertainer" is, yet I don't, I mean I've heard the name but I'm still kind of lost, a google/wikipedia search is forthcoming

I wonder if Batista has come back too soon, again, his match with Orton was pretty short

I wonder ho many of the kids in the crowd watched wrestling when Trish was around?? Only been 3 years since she left, but I'll bet the WWE have drawn in a few kids in that time....

Possible explanation for the subdued crowd reaction in her own hometown.

Raw was better than last weeks but still awful

Trish was wasted and Batista's retirement would have been better for everyone

-- With Lilian Garcia's final show scheduled for next Monday night in Little Rock, Arkansas, there has been talk of making Howard Finkel the new announcer for Raw if they are unable to find a permanent replacement by September 28.
