ECW has easily become my favourite wrestling show on TV right now. It might only be an hour long, but it gets right to the point and provides everything you would tune in to watch a wrestling show for.
Guys like Christian, Finlay, Dreamer, Swagger all seem to mix well together regardless of who's the heel and who's the face. Then with others like the Hart Dynasty and Evan Bourne it makes for quality viewing. I think the reason why it all works so well is because there's no real divide between undercard, midcard and main eventers, it's just a bunch of guys with so much talent that you believe they're capable of the situations and the opponents that they're put in front of.

And of course with with excellent commentary by the intriguing and motivated Matt Striker you can't go wrong!

Striker is the "breakout" commentator of the last few years.  Forget your generic Grisham, Cole and Matthews.  Striker's passion for wrestling shines through and he sells matches and feuds so well because of it.  Its also cool and surprising how he gets to make so many old school references, like mentioning Alex Wright and Duke Droese considering most fans watching will think...who?  He's also good with the music references to  ;)

As for the comment about there being no real gap, that is spot on and its cool because like in the Attitude Era you really believed anyone could win.  I mean you KNOW who the top stars are on the show, but to elevate others to the top would not be hard as it would on say RAW maybe.

My only complaint, Finlay needs more sinister music.

Agree, the wrestling on this show is top notch and I find it way more entertaining than Raw.

Tyson Kidd is amazing.

I wish Teddy Hart would get his attitude in check because he would fit into the team perfectly.  With him and Kidd as the superb tag team and Smith as the IC Title singles star kind of guy, now that would be great.

Bret Hart's son Dallas in 24 such a shame he never entered the business he would've been excellent but its alot to live up to.

ECW along with SD are the best shows going at the min, with ECW consistantly being excellent the past year or more. Like SD, it has a great blend of veterans and young guys.

I was really enjoying ECW. But they have ruined it now by taking NHF, Swagger, Bourne & Finlay off ECW now. And what does ECW get? Goldust!

Just stupid.

Haven't saw Raw yet but read it on WWE.com. So they've moved Swagger to Raw huh? And I thought for once they were going to push a superstar properly. They'll probably ruin him by putting him in a thrown together fued with John Cena then put the belt on him in a few months. Typical.

ECW has been ****.

Shelton Benjamin will be decent for solid matches but brings little else to the table.

William Regal should be teamed with Paul Burchill, help to get him over.

Yeah. I wouldn't miind if they replaced them but they Got no one decent back. and even then you think Swaggers gone maybe theres a chance for Bourne to get thrown into the title picture..... but no they stole him too.

I mean with Kidd, Bourne, Swagger, Christian & DH Smith they looked like they had a good crop of guys who could at least see ECW through to the next draft after Mania. Maybe because RAW is so stale and they have been Impressed with NHF and want them in the tag scene sooner than planned, thats why they have done it. But it just leaves ECW so talent bear. I mean why take Finlay? Guys like Morrision can't get a title on SD hows he gonna help that brand?

You now have Tommy Dreamer & Christian vs Koslov and Shelton Benjamin..... thats what that show looks like now to me and Obviously its not gonna have the same quality to it now.

Maybe we'll see a whole host of new guys from development come through again but i fear for ECW with the current roster.

As annoying as it is, I can now see why they did it, whichever way you slice it, fact is ECW is a glorified development league with some veterans to help draw in viewers and bring the younger guys along.

Evan Bourne, The Hart Dynasty and Jack Swagger have passed the test and been promoted from the development league that it is while the likes of Mark Henry and Finlay have exhausted most feuds on there.

Clearly its now time to bring in another batch of, not quite ready for Smackdown or RAW lets test them on ECW guys.  As seen by the debuts last night of Abraham Washington, Sheamus, Tyler Reks and Yoshi Tatsu.  I've so interested in seeing these new guys I'm downloading ECW now rather than waiting 'til thursday.  You also have veterans with little prospects on the other shows in Regal and Benjamin to help put these guys over.

Abraham Washington sounds like the retarded child of Jack Swagger and Jonathan Coachman.

Having watched ECW/Superstars the New Talent Intiative has definately brought some interesting people in.

The Abraham Washington guy might make a good manager for a heel who isn't too good on promos simply because the guy can clearly draw heat, don't waste him in segments with pointless Divas.

Tyler Reks seems the weakest of the bunch, his gimmick is that of a surfer dude, heck if your going down that route have him bring a surfboard to the ring, use it as a weapon or something.

Tatsu had hilarious theme music, something about its goofy nature I loved, can't really comment on his in-ring skills because he and Benjamin barely wrestled, incidently Benjamin's mocking promo was probably the best promo Benjamin has ever cut, he seemed in his element.

Sheamus definately stands out, I'm hoping they don't want him to be sinister because if they do he failed, he just seemed odd, nice Rock Bottom-Backbreaker finisher, definately need to see more of him though.
