What product could hammer be selling his crappy 3rd rate family tv show?
It seem ths only hosts of Raw are like Guest on The tonight show, or Saturday night live, they dont seem to be there because they love wrestling, but rather to get the free 2 hours of promotion for their product on the #1 cable show. I dont want to see Hammer unless hes getting in the ring with Greg Valentine to fight for the name THE HAMMER

It agree that the guest hosts should be knowledgable about the WWE. That sounds like an obvious requirement but..... well, doesn't mean the WWE'll do it.

I think (hope?) the WWE will at some point realise that there aren't a whole load of non-wrestling related celebrities who are fans of the WWE and have nothing to plug who are queueing up to host Raw, and they'll just name a full-time GM.

IMO, the best non-wrestling host so far if I had to pick one would be Seth Green.

ZZ Top's segments had to be pre-recorded and mostly involved them pretending to play with Santino, Shaq was alright and Piven might've worked if that other guy hadn't been there.


DiBiase has definitely been the best wrestling guy there.

Variety has an article at this link looking at WWE introducing the "special guest host" aspect of Monday Night Raw and how the formula has proved to be a success ratings wise. The article notes that overall viewership of Raw is up 10% since the hosts were introduced and averages a weekly audience of 5.6 million people.

Stephanie McMahon added, "We wanted a different way to get our product out there and talked about. Tying us in with celebrities in Hollywood raises our awareness and gets a variety of people talking about us, which is always a positive place to be. Hopefully it will translate to new viewers."

The article also revealed upcoming booked talent as: Bob Barker, the Rev. Al Sharpton, "Access Hollywood" co-host Nancy O'Dell, boxer Floyd Mayweather and basketball player LeBron James. Others in talks include: Fall Out Boy's Pete Wentz, Ashlee Simpson, the Osbournes, Danny DeVito, Regis Philbin and Kelly Ripa, Jimmy Fallon, Rachael Ray, MC Hammer, Woody Harrelson, Serena Williams and Ashton Kutcher.
