In the 80's a Tag Team was a Full Time Gig. Demolition, Killer Bees, Road Warriors, Midnight Express, Rockers, Hart Foundation, British Bulldogs, Bushwackers etc.....
Back then there was a Formula,
MATCHING OUTFITS / THEME,
One entrance song for the Group
Codinated Moves and Signature Finishers.
You rarely seen them wrestle independently
There was only 3 or 4 titles so there was always a tag title defense on every PPV, it wasa big deal to be champion Then the 1990's Attitude era began and I feel with the formation of the NWO and Scott Hall and Kevin Nash Tag teams went from being organized into just 2 guys thrown together and nothing in common. I know in the 80's there was a few thrown together teams. For Tag Teams to work, you need solid unified teams who wrestle as teams all the time and have 1 entrance song and a theme, if booked right the Hart Legacy and add in 3 to 4 real teams and things could be going,
Tag teams are important in wrestling, back in the day it was all singles matches and the tag stood aside, now with EVERY Raw featuring a Triple H, Cena, Bastita, vs Legacy angle in tag or elimination matches it takes away from how special a tag team would be.
